Volunteer Opportunities

Seeking Hosts for the Lindgren Cabin!

Saturdays 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. from Memorial Day to Labor Day weekend!

Located in Cullaby lake park south of Astoria. Eric Lindgren, a Swedish Finn, built the cabin in the 1920’s. He constructed it with huge, old-growth red cedar and all the logs were hewn by hand with a broadaxe to a 6″ thickness!

During Saturday (or Sunday) from Memorial Day to Labor Day, we need volunteers to act as cabin hosts. Times needed are 11am – 3pm. There is a small day use of fee of $5, however there is ample parking, a beautiful view and a bathroom near by.

There are a lot of interesting things to do in this area. Cullaby Lake has a 2.1-mile trail and is a great spot for hiking, swimming, fishing, picnicking, and canoeing. This Cabin is also a short drive from Astoria, Gearhart, Fort Stevens State Park and the half-submerged shipwreck of the Peter Iredale. There are also a few inexpensive places to stay. If you want something close, Kamper’s West RV Park offers RV Parking, Camping and also has 3 Cabins that rent for only $50 per night. (Each cabin can sleep 4).
